My family owns a small farm where we raise pigs, including porkers, sows, and piglets. I have gained a lot of indirect experience from working alongside my parents, learning about farm management, animal care, and swine health. I have also studied the basics of swine vaccines, which has helped me understand the importance of keeping the animals healthy and preventing disease.

Some of the tasks I regularly perform on the farm include:

Taking care of the pigs by feeding them, ensuring they have clean living spaces, and monitoring their health.

Cutting the tails of piglets is an important part of their care and health management.

Cutting the teeth of piglets to prevent injury to the sows and to ensure the piglets’ well-being.

Bathing the pigs to keep them clean and prevent skin infections.

In addition to my work with pigs, I also help raise chickens, ducks, and goats. This includes:

Feeding the chickens, ducks, and goats daily, ensuring they have enough food and water.

Cleaning the barn and animal housing areas to maintain a safe and hygienic environment for the animals.

Administering medicine to the animals when needed, helping to ensure their health and comfort.

These tasks have given me hands-on experience in animal husbandry and farm management, which I am eager to expand upon in a more professional setting
